IPMAT 2021 Analysis

IPMAT exam for admissions to 5 year IPM course of IIM Indore was conducted today from 9.30 to 11 AM in CBT mode at various centers. No technical glitch was reported anywhere.

Paper had a total of 60 questions in 3 sections with 30 minutes for each section, a total of 90 minutes. Total max marks 240. This is a repeat of the pattern introduced in 2020.

Sec 1: QA Short Answer type: 10 questions, each question 4 marks, no negative marking, total marks 40. Degree of difficulty moderate to tough. Expected cut off around 20 marks. 

Sec 2: QA MCQ type: 20 questions, each question 4 marks for correct and -1 negative marking for wrong answer. Total marks 80. Degree of difficulty moderate to tough. Cut off around 20-25 marks. 

Sec 3: VA MCQ type: 30 questions, each question 4 marks for correct and -1 negative marking for wrong answer. Total marks 120. Degree of difficulty easy to moderate. Cut off around 65-70 marks. 

Students who clear all three cutoffs shall be shortlisted for the next round, which will be a personality assessment round. 

Final results will be prepared with 65% weightage to IPMAT score and 35% weightage to personality assessment round.
