Analysis
IBSAT conducted on 26TH December, 2010 is the first step to get an admission to B Schools like ICFAI, Hyderabad, Pune and other institutes of high repute. The test of IBSAT was of 125 questions and the major thrust was on verbal ability as there were 75 questions on verbal ability out of total 125. The paper could be termed as a moderate one with few difficult questions and time has always been a challenge to crack IBSAT. However, no negative marking has always been a sigh of relief for the test taker. An overall attempt of 90+ questions with 90% accuracy should be a comfortable score.

Analysis
Language skills section is divided into two parts viz. Verbal Skills and Reading Comprehension. In Verbal Ability, there were some questions which were difficult, rest of the questions were easy to moderate. RCs were medium in length, however the number of questions asked were around 8 to 9, that makes the set scoring. In Quantitative Aptitude, there were only 25 questions, that too of easy to moderate difficulty level. IRA Section was divided into two parts, 15 questions on data accuracy and 15 questions on data interpretation.
Section 1: VERBAL ABILITY
The section comprises of 50 questions, the time that should be given to the section should be 25 mins. And the cut offs will be around 32+ with 90% accuracy.

Section 2: READING COMPREHENSION
The section comprises of 25 questions, with 3 RCs comprising, 8, 8 and 9 questions each. The length of RCs is moderate and the questions asked were mainly direct detail. An overall attempt of 20+ questions with 90% accuracy could be an ideal score. The time that should be given to the section should be 35 mins. The topics of the RC were ‘Social evils like child marriage, alcohol addiction’, A passage on life of Mariam Makeba-An African singer who supported anti-apartheid’ and ‘Effects of climate change on birds’.
Section 3: QUANTITATIVE APTITUDE
The difficulty level of the section can be rated as easy-moderate. In 30 minutes planned time, an attempt of around 18 questions out of 25 is manageable. The topic wise breakup of the section is as follows:

Section 4: DATA ADEQUACY AND DATA INTERPRETATION
The section comprises of 25 questions and the ideal time that can be allotted to this section could be 30 mins. An attempt of 18+ questions with 90% accuracy could be an ideal score. Out of 25 questions, 15 were from Data Adequacy, where 5 situations were given and the student has to analyze the question accordingly. From DI, there were two cases, one based entirely on table with 5 questions and the other one comprising two pie charts and two tables.
